The MAPAL Group headquarters
With the establishhment of MAPAL by Dr. Georg Kress in 1950, the foundation stone was laid in the town of Aalen for the company which now operates worldwide. The success of the company began with the introduction of a single bladed taper reamer with guide pads (the MAPAL principle).
The headquarters of the company group with roughly 1,800 employees, including nearly 130 apprentices is the MAPAL Dr. Kress KG in Aalen. This is where Executive Board defines the strategic directions of the MAPAL Group. In Aalen, key competencies are concentrated, such as research & development, controlling, marketing & corporate communications, training, process management, strategic purchasing, IT and the services sector. Here the guidelines for the entire company group are developed and implemented in cooperation with the local contact partners worldwide.
In addition, Aalen is also the largest production site of the group and is responsible for the product areas of fine boring tools, blades and inserts, fixed multi-bladed reamers, clamping chucks and adapters, ISO tools, mechatronic systems, setting devices and tool dispensing systems.
